about
As some of you may know, I am starting a new project for myself as a means to keep myself in the creative process. I am constantly writing music and ideas and working on stuff and I decided that rather than wait for my next album to come out before I release anything, I would release a new song every week for a year.
This will also allow me to really run with production skills and make songs that aren't geared towards One Man Banned but just focused on the songs and what they need as independent works of art.
I think it is going to be a very interesting project because for instance some weeks will be busy with work and life and I will still be squeezing in time to write and record. Making some weird stuff along the way I am sure. I am even planning on pre recording songs without lyrics for the weeks while I am in Alaska fishing. Than I will call down here and Jeff (my room mate and fellow songwriter) will record me singing the lyrics I come up with while fishing over the phone. And the distorted tone of me singing over the phone will be what I use.
Also I am planning on incorporating all kinds of talent from the area to get involved with me. I am hoping to make this a big deal. I was also thinking that I would throw a concert about half way through and have all the guests and everything from the songs perform a set of the songs live.
My friends from a great video production company are also jumping onboard to document the whole thing and release a documentary about the songs and the process.
I wrote and recorded all the instruments and vocals myself. I did it over the course of the week after work. This year has started out pretty rough for a lot of us and this is touching on some of the issues I have been dealing with lately.
lyrics
Confirmation
VERSE
She'll cover it up if it would scare me away
She'll tell me lies when I need a reason to stay
She wants the bond of something sacred
When she gets too close She'll pretend to hate it
CHORUS
She's on a quest for confirmation some promises that I'll never take my heart away
there was a time when I could make them but now She's runnin she's runnin she's runnin from love
VERSE
She's chasing down a manly shadow
with too much pride let him close enough
Maybe its my fault and she deserves forgiveness
But thats a full time job for another man
CHORUS
She's on a quest for confirmation some promises that I'll never take my heart away
there was a time when I could make them but now She's runnin she's runnin she's runnin from love
