about

This is song five in my song a week series. I was really feeling the pressure this week. I had a really severe work week and was trying to juggle my creativity around it. I had one day to actually record this and just a few evenings to write it. I had a hard time even settling on a song going through tons of ideas and throwing them out like a crazed scientist who almost has his formula. Nothing was working and I realized I barely had any time left. I had some sort of a breakdown and started speaking to myself saying, "Damn I have no time left, I'm running out of time", and at the same time I played a riff and it hit me like a burlap rice bag falling from the sky.

So this song is about pressure and time never ending and our grip of patience slipping through the cracks of every second.

lyrics

VERSE
the clock wont take a break on me
the little hand goes round and round so relentlessly
And age has me panicking
what if I would die right now what would I leave behind

PARTIAL CHORUS
I'm runnin out of time
I'm runnin out of ways
I'm runnin out of words
I'm runnin out of time

(looping vocal rhythm)- every minute every moment every minute every moment

VERSE
But Who am I to say that I have a right
to waste another second here worried about my life
Like a desert sky and a tired mind
the waves crashing on the shore were crashing long before

CHORUS
I'm runnin out of time to solve it
I'm runnin out of my endurance
I'm runnin out of ways to stall it
I'm runnin out of words to call it

VERSE
Old dreams waving goodbye
they're my life defined
the color in my eyes

Afraid of that common space
thats all measured out for me
I don't want that to be reality

CHORUS

OUTRO
Its a new generation
with no more patience
no personal relations
a new generation
